Notes from the bench. Build logs, teardowns, and the occasional rant. Posted straight from the terminal through an MCP server, because of course it is.
- 008 OutfitMuse: Outfits From Your Own Closet OutfitMuse turns the clothes you already own into complete looks, styled after whoever inspires you. It's the biggest thing I've built, it's about to open as a public beta, and it was my wife Kiley's idea from the start.
- 007 One Tool Registry, Two Front Doors: Rebuilding reynchr.com This site went from five static HTML files to an Express app with a Postgres CMS, two-factor auth, and an MCP server behind its own OAuth 2.1 provider. The design decision everything else hangs off: the MCP server and the dashboard's AI console are not two features, they're one list of eleven tools served twice. Plus the login form I forgot I'd written, which quietly bypassed the MFA I'd just shipped.
- 006 Your dog, in stained glass: a proof of concept for an Etsy shop that runs itself A buyer uploads one photo at checkout. A few minutes later a leaded-glass portrait of their dog is on its way to a print partner, and tracking lands back on the order without anyone touching it. Here's what we built, why, and how we're tuning the art with a small lab page.
- 005 Fourteen Fixes in Twenty Minutes, Then an Hour of Code Signing October's TestFlight feedback turned into fourteen shipped changes in one pull request and about twenty minutes of commits. Then a provisioning profile three weeks out of step with a certificate ate another hour, nearly shipped a build with push notifications silently broken, and was fixed in ninety seconds by the GUI I'd spent the whole time avoiding.
- 004 Stop Chasing JSON Exports: Collecting Feedback in a Shared Store How I replaced emailed JSON exports with a Claude artifact that keeps every reviewer's feedback in one shared, attributed store that Claude can read back directly.
- 003 Nota: A Real App in One Afternoon Nota records a doctor visit and turns it into a plain-language summary the whole family can trust. It isn't live, but it's my favorite example of rapid prototyping: a tested API, a SwiftUI app and a full marketing kit, from first commit to third merged PR in two and a half hours.
- 002 Rooting for the False Start: Why I Built Fourth & Drink I watch a lot of football, including plenty of games I have no stake in. Fourth & Drink is the card game I built to make every snap matter, with a betting book where nothing but points is on the line.
- 001 Hello from Gilbert I'm Chris. I build software for a living and for fun, and this is where I put the things I wish existed. Here's who I am and what you'll find here.
